Ninth grade student killed in police custody in Jhang

Family of the deceased appealed to CM Buzdar and IG Punjab to take action against those responsible.

JHANG (Dunya News) – Another tragic incident regarding the police brutalities surfaced in Jhang when a 13-year-old student lost his life due to violence in the police custody.

Naubahar, a student of ninth grade, along with other two was taken by the police forcefully. Family of the deceased expressed that police barged in their home, arrested their three children and demanded bribe which they could not pay. “Today, we learnt that our child has been killed by the police violence whereas they are not even giving us the dead body of our son,” family added.

Family staged a protest to seek justice for their son. They appealed to the Chief Minster Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar and IG Punjab Arif Nawaz Khan to take an action.

On the other hand, DPO Jhang Atta-Ur-Rahman, taking notice of the incident, suspended CIA Abdullah Jappa, ASI Mubashar and ASI Ali Nawaz along with two constables Liaquat and Saqlain. The SP Muzammil Hussain have been ordered to investigate the matter.

The protesters accused ASI Mubashir and ASI Ali Nawaz of detaining Naubahar in the custody. DSP Saifullah Bhatti apologized to the family and assured them of action against those responsible.
