2800 Pakistanis serving sentences in UAE jails

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – At least 2800 Pakistanis including 92 women are serving sentences in different United Arab Emirates (UAE) jails.
According to the report, 317 prisoners are facing jail terms in drug cases, 227 in dacoity, 18 in bounce cheque and financial issues and 1167 prisoners were found to be involved in small crimes.
148 out of 247 Pakistanis in Al-Ain Jail have been sentenced while 89 prisoners are still going through trial phase.
