Karachi: 1024 cars, over 17000 bikes snatched in 2018
Police also claimed to kill two terrorists while nabbing 58 others in 2018.
(Dunya News) – A report compiled by Karachi Police claims slight reduction in the crime rate in the metropolis in 2018 as compared to the previous year.
As per stats issued by Karachi Police, 1024 persons were deprived of their vehicles in 2018 thus far. During the same period in the previous year, 990 cars were snatched at gunpoint.
On the other hand, incidents of bike theft soared by whooping 10pc as over 17000 motorcycles were robbed in 2018.
Likewise, mobile theft witnessed a light reduction as 10421 people were deprived of their phones. During the same period in previous year, 10892 cases of mobile theft were filed with Karachi Police.
Police also claimed to kill two terrorists while nabbing 58 others in 2018.
The report came just one day after Karachi Mayor Wasim Akhtar was deprived of his govt car at gunpoint in broad daylight in Karachi’s Defence Phase-VI area.
