Chichawatni observes Shutterdown strike against rape, murder of minor girl

CHICHA WATNI (Dunya News) – Shutter-down strike is being observed by Anjuman-e-Tajran in Chichawatni against brutal murder and rape of an eight-year-old girl.

Victim Noor Fatima, who was a resident of Mahmoodabad and student of two class, was set ablaze after rape.

The relatives found the girl in a critical condition and took her to the hospital for medical treatment but she succumbed to the injuries.

The relatives then reached tehsil headquarters hospital for the postmortem of the corpse that revealed rape before the death. For further confirmation, blood samples have also been sent to forensic laboratory.


CM Shehbaz takes notice 


Chief Minister of Punjab (CM) Shehbaz Sharif has taken notice of the incident and directed Inspector General of Punjab to submit report as early as possible. He has also ordered to arrest the culprits and bring them to the justice.

The minister further expressed condolences to the bereaved family and termed the mishap deplorable. He said steps have to be taken to stop such heinous crimes.


Case lodged


Police officers have lodged a case against unknown suspects under section 302 and arrested one suspicious person.

Sahiwal DPO Dr Atif Ikram told Dunya News that the officers are properly investigating the case a they have formed teams for the detention of the criminals. Will take stern action against the culprits, he assured.

Moreover, funeral prayer of the victim will be offered at 1:00pm.
