Triple murder: SC acquits three people after 20 years
The court while annulling the punishments of the suspects ordered to release them.
KARACHI (Dunya News) – The Supreme Court Karachi registry on Tuesday acquitted a woman Asma Nawab and two men in triple murder case after 20 years.
The suspects had challenged their death sentence in the court. The woman was accused of killing her parents and brother to get married for love.
The court while annulling the punishments of the suspects ordered to release them.
The judge remarked that no direct evidence linking the suspects with the murders is present whereas the submitted proofs contain errors.
“The suspects were in jail for the past 20 years. They have already been provided punishment without evidence,” said the court.
According to prosecution, the woman murdered her three family members in 1998 with the assistance of Farhan, Javed Siddiqui and Waseem.
The court had sentenced Asma, Farhan and Javed to death whereas Sindh High Court (SHC) had turned down their plea against the penalty.
