FIA apprehends seven human traffickers during operation in Gujranwala
Group's key suspects Mohammad Hassnain and Afzal Ahmed have also been taken into custody.
GUJRANWALA (Dunya News) – Important development has been made in Turbat massacre as Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Tuesday arrested as many as 7 human traffickers during raid in Gujranwala.
The security personnel have also recovered at least 142 Pakistani passports, fake stamps and pictures from the possession of the suspects. They said that the detainees used to send people abroad on forged visas.
Group’s key suspects Mohammad Hassnain and Afzal Ahmed have also been taken into custody.
Earlier today, 18 hostages, including 16 foreigners, were rescued by the security forces from a house in Turbat during a raid on intelligence report. The rescued foreigners and Pakistani nationals were involved in drug peddling and were trying to smuggle narcotics to Europe via Iran.
Security forces also arrested two suspected kidnappers who kept these persons hostage in the house and also recovered arms from their possession.
On November 15, 15 bullet-riddled bodies were found on a mountain in Balochistan’s Turbat district. The victims were trying to illegally cross the Iranian border to reach Gulf countries when they were kidnapped by unidentified men near Buleda valley in Kech District and killed.
However on November 19, five more bodies were recovered in Turbat’s Tajban.
