SWABI (Dunya News) – Police on Tuesday have apprehended two target killers belonging to Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) who had gunned down anti-polio drive’s coordinator among three.
District Police Officer (DPO) Javed Iqbal held a press conference today.
He said that the arrested killers were involved in murders of anti-polio workers’ coordinator Dr Yaqoob, police constable Imtiaz and traffic police officer.
After attack on police personnel, operatives of the banned outfit had left their motorcycle in the ttack site which was unregistered, he added. The police official said that geo-fencing of the crime scenes were done which led to the arrests.
An operation was conducted in Malikabad following collection of data through geo-fencing. The operation resulted in arrests of Amir Rehman and Khalid Rehman.
Law enforcers seized hand grenades, two pistols, five kilogram explosives, four detonators, safety fuses, ball bearings and nails.
