KARACHI (Dunya News) – A man in Karachi’s Sarjani Teesar Town area killed her daughter and neighbour in cold blood today (Friday).

According to details, police recovered dead bodies of a man and woman from a house. Both were killed by gunshots by some unidentified men.

The bodies were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed hospital. Police have identified the bodies by the name of Shahidullah and Asma who belong to Mehsud tribe.

Police suspect that both were killed in the name of honour.

Superintendant Police (SP) Azfar Maheesar state that murder was committed by the father named Muttaqi who escaped after the incident.

Honour killings are common throughout the country, claiming the lives of hundreds of victims every year. As per Aurat Foundation’s statistics, atleast 432 women were reportedly killed in the name of honour in Pakistan in 2012, 705 in 2011, 557 in 2010, 604 in 2009 and 475 women were killed in 2008.
