Summary A two-month infant kidnapped two days ago was recovered in a joint action by police and the CPLC.
According to local police, Farooq, the father of the infant Sameer lodged an FIR Liaquatabad Police Station regarding the abduction of his son.
According to the investigation by police and the CPLC, the infant was carried away by a relative girl Maryam. The accused demanded Rs.5 million as ransom.
Police began recording of phone calls of the accused and arrested an accused Umair from Liaquatabad.
On his tip-off, police arrested other miscreants including Sikander, Waseem and relative women Rukhsana and Shehnaz. On identification by the miscreants, Sameer was recovered from a private hospital located in Gulshan-e-Iqbal.
DSP Rao Aslam said that the accused had abducted the child for the lust of money. Further interrogation of the accused is underway after which he would be produced before the court.
