Summary Earlier Debbie Calitz was held captive by Somali pirates for 20 months.

JOHANNESBURG Debbie Calitz was arrested at her house north of Pretoria during a raid at the weekend that also netted six others.

It is believed that they used the back garden of the house to grow marijuana.

"They will appear in court on charges of drugs possession. They were found with magic mushrooms, marijuana and marijuana plants," police spokeswoman Katlego Mogale said.

Another woman and five men, between the ages of 19 and 50 were also arrested during the raid.

Calitz made headlines after she and her partner Bruno Pelizzari were hijacked in October 2010 while sailing in the Indian Ocean.

They were freed in June 2012 following a joint operation by South African, Somali and Italian governments.

This month Calitz published a book on her ordeal at the hands of the pirates, who she said treated them worse than animals.

It is not clear if the family paid a $500,000 ransom demanded by the pirates for their release.
