KOLKATA (Dunya News)– West Indies set a competitive 196-run target for India in a decisive Super 8 Group 1 encounter of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup.

After winning the toss, India opted to field first in the high-stakes contest, effectively a virtual quarterfinal with the winner advancing to the semifinals.

Batting first, West Indies posted 195 for 4 in their allotted 20 overs. Roston Chase led the charge with 40 runs, while Jason Holder contributed 37.

Rovman Powell added 34 and Shai Hope chipped in with 32 to power the total.

For India, pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah claimed two wickets to keep the Caribbean side under the 200-run mark.

With a semifinal berth on the line, India now face a challenging chase of 196 runs to keep their title hopes alive.
