COLOMBO (Dunya News) - Sri Lanka registered a 20-run victory over Ireland in the sixth group match of the ICC T20 World Cup, defending their total successfully in a disciplined all-round performance.
Chasing a target of 164 runs, Ireland were bowled out for 143, despite resistance from Harry Tector, who scored 40 runs, and Ross Adair, who added 34.
The rest of the Irish batting lineup failed to offer significant support as wickets fell at regular intervals.
Earlier, Ireland won the toss and opted to field first.

Batting first, Sri Lanka posted 163 for six in their allotted 20 overs.
Kusal Mendis anchored the innings with a solid 56 off 43 balls, while Kamindu Mendis provided late impetus with a blistering 44 off just 19 deliveries, helping Sri Lanka reach a competitive total.
For Ireland, George Dockrell and Barry McCarthy claimed two wickets each, while Gareth Delany and Mark Adair picked up one wicket apiece.
