Pakistan whitewash Australia with 111-run win in third T20I

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistan defeated Australia by 111 runs to complete a series whitewash in the third T20 match.

In the third and final T20 of the series at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, Pakistan won the toss and chose to bat first against Australia.

Batting first against Australia, Pakistan scored 207 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the allotted 20 overs after winning the toss.

In the early overs, Fakhar Zaman was dismissed for 10 runs off 7 balls. Salman Agha managed 5 runs off just 3 deliveries. However, Saim Ayub played an impressive aggressive knock, scoring 56 runs off 37 balls, including 6 fours and 2 sixes.

Babar Azam played a responsible innings, remaining unbeaten on 50 runs off 36 balls. Khawaja Nafi contributed 21 runs off 12 balls. Shadab Khan played a blistering knock of 46 runs off 19 balls, taking Pakistan close to the 200-run mark. Faheem Ashraf finished the innings with 10 runs off 4 balls.

Pakistan’s overall run rate was 10.35, with 4 extra runs added in the final overs.

Among the Australian bowlers, Ben Dwarshuis claimed the most wickets with two, while Matthew Kuhnemann, Matthew Short, Cooper Connolly, and Cameron Green picked up one wicket each.

In reply, Australia were bowled out for 96 runs. Mohammad Nawaz picked up five wickets.

Speaking after the toss, national team captain Salman Ali Agha said that three changes had been made to the team, with Fakhar Zaman, Khawaja Nafi, and Shaheen Afridi included in the playing XI.
