(Web Desk) – Hyderabad, the newest franchise in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), has appointed former Australian cricketer and ex-Pakistan head coach Jason Gillespie as their head coach.

Negotiations between Gillespie and the franchise were successfully concluded, leading to the formalization of the coaching agreement.

Previously, Gillespie was part of Pakistan’s coaching staff, where he was appointed as the head coach of the Test squad in April 2024, alongside Gary Kirsten.

However, in December 2024, he resigned from the position after a strained relationship with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), just ahead of Pakistan's two-match Test series in South Africa.

The 11th season of PSL is set to begin in March 2025.
