PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – An exhibition match between Peshawar Zalmi and Quetta Gladiators is set to take place on April 8 in Peshawar’s Arbab Niaz Cricket Stadium.
To prepare for the event, the provincial government has directed the swift completion of renovation work at Arbab Niaz Cricket Stadium.
Peshawar Zalmi owner Javed Afridi welcomed fans, stating, "Quetta Gladiators and Zalmi fans, Pakhair Raghlay to Arbab Niaz Stadium."
This exhibition match is part of the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) strategy to build excitement ahead of the 10th season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
This is not the first time PCB has organised such a match before the PSL. A similar exhibition match was held in Quetta in 2023, which successfully captured the attention and enthusiasm of cricket fans.
The success of that match likely influenced the decision to bring cricket back to Peshawar, reinforcing PCB’s commitment to promoting the sport across Pakistan.
