LAHORE (Web Desk) – Veteran cricketer Zaheer Abbas has been included in the Board of Governors of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) as a nominee of the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), reports said.

Zaheer, who was known as Asian Bradman, has become the first Test cricketer to join the BoG after a long time.

The State Bank had earlier picked Meraj Mahmood for the position before it recommended the name of the legendary cricketer.

The BoG is the PCB's premier decision-making body which includes four members from the 16 regional cricket associations and four from affiliated departments.

It also include Punjab chief secretary, cabinet division secretary and three nominees of the prime minister.

It may be recalled that the PCB announced the composition of Board of Governors in January this year in accordance with Paragraph 10 of the PCB Constitution 2014.
