Team Green reach next round with thumping 114-run win over UAE
MUSCAT (Dunya News) – Pakistan on Wednesday crushed the UAE by 114 runs to book a place in semi final of the Emerging Teams T20 Asia Cup at Al Amerat, Oman.
In pursuit of 180-run target, the UAE were bowled out for 65 in 17th over as Shahnawaz Dahani devastated the batting lineup of opponent team by claiming five-wicket haul.
Most of the UAE batters were dismissed below 10 runs while skipper Rahul Chopra remained high scorer with 20 runs.
Earlier, Pakistan elected to bat first and posted 179 runs, thanks to skipper Mohmmad Haris, who played an unbeaten innings of 71 runs.
Pakistan’s opening pair Omair Yousuf and Yasir Khan made 21 and 25, respectively while Qasim Akram scored 23. Haider further pushed the total in final overs by playing a knock of 32 runs.
