LAHORE (Dunya News) - Pakistan are now leading the ICC World Test Championship points table after India were held to a draw in the second Test by the West Indies in Trinidad.
Pakistan, with 24 points, lead the points table ahead of India, who are second with 16 points.
The Babar Azam-led side secured a convincing clean sweep by defeating the Lankan Lions by an innings and 222 runs at the Sinhalese Sports Club (SSC) in Colombo.
Pakistan are the only side with a 100 per cent success rate following their four-wicket win over Sri Lanka in the first Test. Pakistan’s next assignment will be against the Aussies — who are currently taking on England in the fifth Ashes Test — in December.
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) management committee chairman Zaka Ashraf has congratulated Babar Azam and company for winning the two-match Test series.
On the other hand, India have a win-loss percentage of 66.67. Australia (third), England (fourth), and the West Indies (fifth) are the other teams to play their games in the 2023-25 World Test Championship cycle.
Australia and England currently hold the third and fourth positions on the points table, respectively.
The draw against India in the second test earned West Indies some valuable points. They are fifth in the table with a win a PCT of 16.67.
