Summary BCCI shrugs off reports stating Pakistan can play World Cup matches in Bangladesh

LAHORE (Web Desk) – In connection with the resistance of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to playing World Cup matches in India, Bangladesh was likely to emerge as a neutral option for Pakistan.

According to media reports, after the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) informed the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) that they would not visit Pakistan for the tournament, the PCB was looking for options in terms of adopting a hybrid model for the World Cup, which was scheduled for October-November in the neighbouring country.

Meanwhile, in connection with the matches of Asia Cup, countries including England, Oman, Sri Lanka, and the UAE were considering hosting India matches.

On the other side, the BCCI went on to say the entire Asia Cup will be moved from Pakistan to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) or Qatar. The BCCI had also shrugged off reports stating that Pakistan could play World Cup matches in Bangladesh.
