Rawalakot Hawks win Kashmir Premier League title
Rawalakot Hawks beat Muzaffarabad Tigers by seven runs in the final of the Kashmir Premier League.
MUZAFFARABAD (Dunya News) - Rawalakot Hawks beat Muzaffarabad Tigers by seven runs in the final to win the Kashmir Premier League(KPL) title in Muzaffarabad on Tuesday, Dunya News reported.
Put in to bat first, Rawalakot Hawks piled up 169 runs for the loss of seven wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Kashif Ali batted well for the Hawks and scored 54 runs with the help of five fours and three towering sixes. Bismillah Khan and Sahibzada Farhan contributed 30 and 28 runs respectively.
Usama Mir emerged as best bowler for the Muzaffarabad Tigers and grabbed two wickets by giving away 25 runs in his quota of four overs. Muhammad Hafeez chipped in with two wickets while Muhammad Wasim and Arshad Iqbal got one wicket each.
Chasinfg a target of 170 runs for victory, Muzaffarabad Tigers could only reach 162 for the loss on nine wickets in their quota of 20 overs. Zeeshan Ashraf was main contributor for the with 46 runs while Muhammad Hafeez (29), Muhammad Wasim (22) and Sohail Tanvir (21) also batted well for Muzaffarabad Tigers but failed to save their side from defeat.
Hussain Talat and Asif Afridi bowled well for Rawalakot Hawks and claimed three wickets each. Shahid Afridi also bowled well and claimed two wickets by giving away 32 runs.
