Salman Butt, Muhammad Asif lied to the ICC: Najam Sethi
LAHORE (Dunya News) - Former PCB Chairman Najam Sethi has revealed that former cricketers Salman Butt and Muhammad Asif had lied to the ICC in the wake of its investigation against them and Muhammad Amir.
The former PCB Chairman said that Salman Butt and Muhammad Asif had tried to return to international cricket but the ICC had asked them both to plead guilty. Muhammad Aamir’s return to cricket was also on ICC’s direction, he added.
On the other hand, Salman Butt has responded to the statement by saying that his return to international cricket was willfully prevented and that there was a backdoor agreement between ICC and the PCB. He said that he was surprised at Najam Sethi’s statement and was seeking advice on his legal powers to redress the injustice.
