BCCI has assured to provide visas and security to the Pakistan team.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has addressed the Pakistan Cricket Board’s concerns over Pakistan players’ visa and security issues during the 2021 Twenty20 International (T20I) World Cup – scheduled in India.

According to the Indian media, the BCCI has assured to provide visas and security to the Pakistan team, and to amicably resolve all matters. The International Cricket Council (ICC) will observe the situation in its meeting following India’s reply.

It is pertinent here to mention that PCB Chairman Ehsan Mani had earlier communicated intentions to the ICC to shift the T20 World Cup to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in case India doesn’t provide a written assurance that the national cricket team, its fans and journalists will be granted visas for the event.

“There is a need to change the ‘Big Three’ mind set,” Mani had said. “We are not seeking written assurance for the visas of the national team only, but for the fans, officials and journalists as well.

“The BCCI lures the other cricket boards through money. We have made our intentions clear to stakeholders both within and out of the country that we plan to run our cricket without India.”
