LAHORE (Dunya News) – Former Pakistan bowler Shoaib Akhtar has acquired the services of famous lawyer Abuzar Salman Khan Niazi in the defamation case lodged against him by the Pakistan Cricket Board’s legal adviser, Taffazul Rizvi, Dunya News reported on Friday.

Abuzar Salman Khan Niazi said in his statement that Shoaib Akhtar will not apologize by any means and all questions raised by Taffazul Rizvi will be answered according to the law.

The lawyer stressed that whatever Shoaib Akhtar said was true and he will prove that in court. Let it be known that the pacer has received a defamation notice of Rs 100 million by Taffazul Rizvi.

Regarding the matter, the Pakistani Cricket Board had stated, “The PCB is disappointed with Shoaib Akhtar’s poor choice of words while publicly commenting about the PCB’s legal department and its legal advisor. The language used by Shoaib Akhtar was highly inappropriate and disrespectful, and cannot be condoned in any civilised society. The PCB’s legal advisor, Mr Taffazul Rizvi, in his own discretion, has initiated defamation and criminal proceedings against Shoaib Akhtar, while the PCB too reserves its rights.”

It is pertinent here to mention that Abuzar Salman Khan Niazi has fought several cases in public interest to provide rights to people. He is also known for his work regarding the environment.
