PSL 2020: Multan Sultans crush Lahore Qalandars by 5 wickets

Multan Sultans have opted to bowl first against Qalandars.

LAHORE (Dunya News) - Multan Sultans beat Lahore Qalandars by five wickets in the third match of the fifth edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL) at Qaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Friday.

Multan Sultans captain won the toss and decided to bowl. Batting first, Lahore Qalandars could only score 138 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in their allotted 20 overs.

Fakhar Zaman (19), Chris Lynn (39), Mohammad Hafeez (14), Dane Vilas (19) and Sohail Akhtar (34) were the main run-getters for Lahore Qalandars. Imran Tahir, Moeen Ali, Muhammad Ilyas grabbed two wickets each while Sohail Tanvir claimed one wicket.

Chasing a small target of 139 to win, Multan Sultans consumed 16.1 overs to reach the target. Shan Masood(38), James Vince (18), Moeen Ali (11), Rilee Rossouw (32) and Shahid Afridi (21) batted well to guide their side to a comfortable victory. Shaheen Shah Afridi, Harif Rauf and David Wises of Lahore Qalandars got one wicket each.

Imran Tahir of Multan Sultans was declared man of the match.
