Let it be known that Mohammad Yousuf was a Christian and had embraced Islam in 2005. He said he grew up in a Muslim-majority neighborhood and used to visit their homes as well.
It is pertinent here to mention that a controversy erupted after Shoaib Akhtar said in a TV program that leg-spinner Danish Kaneria face discrimination in Pakistan team.
Former spinner Iqbal Qasim and opening batsman Mohsin Hasan Khan remarked that it was unfair if Danish Kaaneria was treated in such manner.
