Mohammad Hafeez denies receiving notice from FBR
Mohammad Hafeez has maintained that he files his tax returns annually.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistani cricketer Mohammad Hafeez today (Nov 8) denied receiving any notice from the Federal Bureau of Revenue (FBR) regarding alleged concealment of assets.
Former skipper expressed, “I am unaware of any notice from the FBR," Hafeez said, adding: “I have no idea why such reports are being spread."
Hafeez also denied any tax evasion or asset concealment, saying “I file my tax returns annually." Hafeez, as per the allegations, failed to declare assets worth Rs170 million, for which he has been asked to submit a reply.
According to Dunya News, the FBR has issued a show cause notice to all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez for concealing assets, Dunya News reported on Thursday.
Sources privy to the matter have revealed that Mohammad Hafeez hid assets worth over Rs 170 million. Furthermore, the FBR is conducting the cricketer’s tax audit of last five years.
On the other hand, the 39-year-old has maintained that he files his tax returns annually. He also expressed unawareness about the FBR notice.
