Salman Butt breaks Jacques Kallis' record.
RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – Pakistan batsman Salman Butt broke the List A centuries record of South Africa’s ace all-rounder Jacques Kallis, Dunya News reported on Tuesday.
The left-handed batsman achieved this feat while playing for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the Pakistan Cup against Balochistan.
The 34-year-old scored 133 runs for his 24th List A ton. Jacques Kallis had scored 23 centuries in his List A career.
Furthermore, Salman Butt has become the second highest century scorer for Pakistan in List A career after Saeed Anwar who has 26 tons to his name.
It is worth mentioning here that Salman Butt was banned from cricket for ten years for his involvement in spot-fixing in 2010, of which five years was a suspended sentence.
The ban was lifted in 2015; however, Butt could not make a comeback in Pakistan’s national team afterwards.
He was selected by Lahore Qalandars in the fourth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) as a replacement of skipper Mohammad Hafeez who got injured during the tournament.
