PM Imran rejects PCB's plans for improvement of cricket

Imran Khan said no one has improved cricket and only exceptional talent come out without any support

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday rejected all plans of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) regarding the improvement of cricket.

A meeting for improvement of cricket in the country was held in Islamabad on Wednesday with Prime Minister Imran Khan in the chair.

The meeting was attended by Secretary Inter Provincial Coordination (IPC) Akbar Durrani, Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Ehsan Mani, Lt. Gen (Retd) Muzamil Hussain, Waseem Gulzar Khan, Subhan Ahmed, Mudasar Nazar, Haroon Rashid and other.

During the meeting, the current situation of the cricket and organizational structure of the game in the country was discussed.

Matters pertaining to steps taken for uplifting the talent in the field of cricket also came under discussion in the meeting.

As soon as Haroon Rasheed started the briefing, the prime minister said, “I have played cricket for 40 years hence he doesn t need any briefing on it, adding that if the member wants to improve cricket they have to do it without taking into account vested interests.”

Imran Khan said that no one has improved cricket yet and only exceptional talent come out without any support from the system.
