Pakistan, Australia ODI series trophy to be unveiled on Thursday.
DUBAI (Dunya News) – Pakistan and Australia one-day international (ODI) series trophy will be unveiled on Thursday (today) by captains, Shoaib Malik and Aaron Finch.
The five-match series will start on Friday in Sharjah as Pakistan and Australia look to build momentum ahead of the all important ICC Cricket World Cup 2019.
Both teams conducted practice sessions on Wednesday. Pakistan’s 16-member national squad mostly consists of youngsters. Abid Ali, Saad Ali and Mohammad Hasnain have been selected owing to their good performances in domestic cricket.
Shan Masood and Umar Akmal are making a comeback in the national squad, and will look forward to perform well in order to get selected for the world cup as well.
Pakistan regular skipper Sarfraz Ahmed has been rested for the series and ace all-rounder Shoaib Malik is appointed as the stand-in captain.
On the other hand, Australia all-rounder Glenn Maxwell may be rested from the first ODI as the tourists recover from a stomach bug that has hit the team in the United Arab Emirates.
Maxwell missed training on Wednesday, two days ahead of Friday’s opener in Sharjah.
