AB de Villiers out of PSL's Pakistan leg.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – South Africa ace batsman AB de Villiers has announced that he will not travel to Karachi for the PSL’s Pakistan leg owing to fitness issues.

“I am very disappointed that I will not be able to play in front of the passionate Pakistani cricket fans,” de Villiers said in a press statement. “I saw my doctor who has advised complete rest for two weeks and, unfortunately, that rules me out of the games in Karachi. I hope to be a part of the HBL PSL next year and very much hope to play my part in the return of international cricket to the country. I am backing Lahore Qalandars to go all the way and win the trophy this year.”

Lahore Qalandars management has confirmed the news. Qalandars are already struggling in the tournament and have won only three matches out of seven. Team’s regular captain Mohammad Hafeez was ruled out of the league earlier when he was hit by a ball that fractured his thumb.

Lahore Qalandars – who remained last in previous three seasons – are currently sitting at number four position in the points table.
