Steve likely to miss stint with Multan Sultans in PSL due elbow injury
Smith, whose one-year ban imposed on him by Cricket Australia ends in late March.
ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Steve Smith, suspended Australian Captain, is expected to join the fourth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) after suffering an elbow injury during the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League.
According to details, Steve Smith’s Doctors advised surgery on the injured elbow and at least six weeks rest to recover after suffering injury.
Former Australia captain Steve Smith has entered the draft for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2019 after signing up Multan Sultans. Smith was joined by prolific South Africa batsman, AB De Villiers, who would be another star attraction at this year’s draft.
Smith, whose one-year ban imposed on him by Cricket Australia ends in late March, hurt his elbow while playing for the Comilla Victorians, for whom he turned out in two matches before being forced to return home.
After getting handed a ban by Cricket Australia alongside David Warner for a year for their role in the ball-tampering scandal at Cape Town in March 2018, in which Cameron Bancroft earned a nine-month penalty, Smith has plied his trade in leagues in the Caribbean, Canada as well as in the NSW Premier Cricket back home.
