(Web Desk) - The sixth edition of ICC Women’s World Twenty20 will see constellations descend on the Caribbean, with each team fielding multiple stars.

The world’s best players are the heart of this event, the first ever stand-alone Women’s World T20. Here’s a look at some of the top players from all the teams who could light up the tournament and could make their teams tick:

Javeria Khan (Pakistan)

Javeria Khan has shown glimpses of form, scoring well in all three T20Is against Bangladesh, as well as making contributions against Australia. She has a healthy average of 26 this year, and a strike rate that is well above her career numbers. In her first big assignment as captain, Pakistan’s underdog status will play to her advantage.

Anam Amin

The only Pakistani currently in the top five of the MRF Tyres ICC Women’s Player Rankings, Amin holds the fourth spot among bowlers.

Harmanpreet Kaur (India)

India’s skipper will be the key for India as they look to make a better fist of the tournament this time round. The 29-year-old has a sparkling record in T20s for India having scored 1703 runs in 77 innings. She is more than handy with the ball as well and has 24 wickets at a very reasonable economy rate of 6.19 runs per over.

Alyssa Healy (Australia)

Healy have played in the last two series Australia in which she has five half centuries across eight international innings in both formats, one of them close to a hundred.

Megan Schutt

Schutt already has a T20I hat trick this year, and she’s been consistent enough to claim the No. 1 spot in the MRF Tyres ICC Women’s T20I rankings.

Hayley Matthews (West Indies)

Hayley Matthews will be one of those players whose performance will dictate how well the hosts do in the tournament. Just 20 she already has a decent record to her name, with best surely yet to come.

Danielle Hazell (England)

The thin dividing line between haves and have-nots could be bridged by their bowling and Danielle Hazell will be a crucial cog in the heel. She has an economy of 5.5 runs per over in her 70 internationals and that is pure gold.

Suzie Bates (New Zealand)

Suzie Bates is the highest run-scorer in women’s T20Is, sitting at the top of the select list of batters with more than 2000 T20I runs, and is also tied for most appearances, with 104.
