Pakistan cricket team off to UAE to participate in Asia Cup
The tournament is scheduled to begin on September 15 at the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistan cricket team’s 16-member squad led by captain Sarfraz Ahmad left for Dubai from Allama Iqbal International Airport Lahore on flight EK-623 in the wee hours on Tuesday to participate in the Asia Cup 2018, Dunya News reported.
The tournament is scheduled to begin on September 15 at the United Arab Emirates (UAE), while the final would be played on September 28. International Cricket Council (ICC) has given the international status to the mega event of Asia Cup 2018.
Pakistan will play a group match against a qualifier on September 16 and against India on September 19.
Asia Cup 2018 will feature India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan while the sixth team will be determined via a playoff that includes UAE, Hong Kong, Nepal, Singapore, Malaysia and Oman.
