DUBAI (Dunya News) – Lahore Qalandars captain Brendon McCullum has advised Umar Akmal to learn from his brother and improve his performance. He was talking to media in Dubai as his team failed it to make to playoffs.
Commenting on his team’s lackluster performance in the tournament, Kiwi master-blaster said that everyone was sad in their camp for not making it through to the qualifiers. He specifically asked Umar Akmal to improve his game by learning from his elder brother Kamran Akmal who steered his team to win over Lahore Qalandars and saved Peshawar Zalmi from elimination.
McCullum said that Umar Akmal still has energy and time to play cricket so he should work on his weaknesses. Umar Akmal made only 57 runs in 5 matches he played for which he was dropped.
He said that although the tournament ended on some positivity for the team in the last matches, it would have been great if they had made it to the qualifiers. He named Agha Salman, Suhail Akhtar, Gulraiz and Shaheen Afridi as new blood full of talent which can become the future of PSL and Pakistan.
Lahore Qalandars lost 7 out of 10 matches it played in the tournament.
