(Dunya News) – Multan Sultans 103-1 (Sangakara 51, Khan 1-25) beat Quetta Gladiators 102-10 (Sarfraz 30, Tahir 3-19) by nine wickets in the 13th fixture of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2018.

A hat trick by the veteran leg-spinner Imran Tahir has helped Sultans to clinch top position from the Karachi Kings. Being sent in to bat, Quetta Gladiators failed to put an impressive show with the bat as whole team was dismissed on just 102 runs in the sixteenth over.

Eight batsmen of Gladiators failed to enter double figures. Skipper Sarfraz remained highest scorer with who made 30 runs on 33 balls. Throughout the Gladiators innings, wickets continued to fall in regular intervals. Imran Tahir and Sohail Tanvir picked three wickets each and things under control.

In pursuit of 103, Sultans’ openers made a solid start as openers Ahmad Shehzad added 66 runs for te first wicket with Kumar Sangakara. He was dismissed on 27 runs on 35 balls.

After Shehzad’s departure, Shoaib Maqsood joined the ranks of Sangakara. Both played cautiously and took Sultans home comfortably.


Turning point of the match



Till 12th over, equation looked balance as Gladiators made 92 runs at the cost of four wickets. The collapsed started in the 15th over when Sohail Tanvir picked two wickets on consecutive deliveries. Later, Imran Tahir claimed a hat trick and removed remaining three.
