Summary Pak-NZ T20I series is to begin on January 22 in Wellington.
(Web Desk) – New Zealand has recalled left-arm pacer Ben Wheeler on Wednesday for three-match Twenty20International series against Pakistan.
The series is to begin on January 22 in Wellington.
Pakistan has lost One-Day International (ODI) series against New Zealand earlier this month with the last match of the series yet to be played.
26-year-old Wheeler last was part of New Zealand squad against South Africa in February 2017. Seth Rance has replaced Boult in the final ODI match and is also a part of the Twenty20International squad.
Boult is rested for the final ODI as well as the first T20I.
ODI series: Skipper calls out batsmen on poor performance
Pakistani captain Sarfraz Ahmed blamed the batting top order for failing to perform in three one-day internationals (ODIs) against New Zealand that have been played during the away tour.
During the post-match discussion after the third ODI, Sarfraz told, “A tough loss, batting was again flop. We will sit together and sort it out.”
He acknowledged that the top order was not able to perform well against the new ball bowlers. “The problem is the new ball. We ll not give so many wickets in the first 10 overs,” he expressed when asked about the three consecutive losses.
