(Web Desk) – Ahmed Shehzad will consult a psychologist to help him regain his batting form on the suggestion of head coach Mickey Arthur, according to a recent news report.

The 25-year-old opener has been suffering from inconsistent batting form having played against both World XI and Sri Lanka in the recent series. He is currently playing the matches of National T20 Cup in Rawalpindi and will undergo sessions with the psychologist afterwards.

Media sources reported that British psychologist Dr Taimoor will help Shehzad in the bid to improve form and remain consistent. In fact, the suggestion of seeing a psychologist was given by the Pakistani head coach who wants the talented right-hand-batsman to perform well in all formats.

Shehzad played two ODIs and two T20Is against Sri Lanka last month in the UAE series where he failed to make any impact. However, the home T20 internationals against World XI saw Shehzad in sublime form as he scored runs in all three matches played in Lahore. His 89-run knock in just 55 balls in the third T20I against World XI was one of his best in the recent time. The cricketer has also performed satisfactory in National T20 Cup.

He wasn’t able to retain his space in the Test squad after failing to perform against West Indies in this year’s tour. His critics say that his form collapsed after being hit on the head by Corey Anderson while batting on 176 which caused him skull fracture during the New Zealand series in 2014.
