Summary Rumman Raees is suffering from an elbow injury.
DUBAI (Dunya News) – Pakistan left-arm fast bowler Rumman Raees has been ruled out of Twenty20 International (T20I) series against Sri Lanka owing to an elbow injury.
Raees has a swollen left elbow and he missed the fourth one-day international (ODI) against Sri Lanka as well that was played on Friday. The pacer will not take part in the fifth ODI scheduled today in Sharjah, and will rest in the upcoming T20I series.
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) officials have informed that Rumman’s replacement will be announced soon. On the other hand, right-hand batsman Babar Azam is also struggling as he has pulled a groin, however, he is likely to take part in the T20Is as his injury is not severe.
It is worth mentioning here that Pakistan ace bowler Mohammad Amir was injured during the Test series against the Islanders and was ruled out of the ongoing ODIs. The left-arm bowler has been selected for the three-match T20I series after recovery but his participation is subjected to fitness clearance.
Pakistan lead the five-match ODI series 4-0, and are looking to whitewash the Islanders today in Sharjah. The three T20Is will be played between both countries on October 26 (Abu Dhabi), 27 (Abu Dhabi) and 29 (Lahore).
