Summary The former captain believes that more and more matches should be held between the two nations.
KARACHI (Web Desk) - After Pakistan’s incredible win over India in the final of the Champions Trophy on Sunday, many cricket experts and former players have voiced their opinions regarding the politics involving matches between the two nations.
Former Pakistan captain and wicketkeeper batsman, Rashid Latif, believes that more and more matches should be held between Pakistan and India in order to provide fans with close, mouth-watering encounters. He believes that for the Asian Sports market to flourish, the Pak-India matches are key.
In a video message recorded earlier, the 48-year-old put an end to the rather hilarious ‘father-son’ debate going on on social media and said that Pakistan outclassed their arch-rivals fair and square. He further went onto say that since both Pakistan and India are the real ‘kings’ of Asia, regular matches should be held between the two nations. He was also of the belief that players from both the nations should take part in each other’s’ cricket leagues; the Pakistan Super League (PSL) and the Indian Premier League (IPL).
The former wicketkeeper batsman concluded his message by saying that he has immense respect for people across the border and he would like to put an end to the hate being promoted on social media. He finally said that he was now waiting for both Sehwag’s and Anil Kapoor’s response to his message as they had started the debate in the first place.
