BIRMINGHAM (Dunya News) – The warm-up match of Champions Trophy between Pakistan and Australia has on Monday been delayed due to rain at Edgbaston Cricket Ground in Birmingham.

The match was scheduled to start at 02:30 PM (PST), and any update regarding the start of the game will be given after the rain stops. This is Green Shirts’ second warm-up match, and the team will look to conquer the Aussies after they brushed aside Bangladesh in first practice game that ended in a dramatic fashion.

All eyes are set on Fahim Ashraf who snatched victory from the jaws of defeat in first warm-up game. Cricket enthusiasts are also waiting for Azhar Ali, Babar Azam, Wahab Riaz and skipper Sarfraz Ahmed to play well in the match, as their performance was not up to the mark against Bangladesh.

The team practiced with high morale under the supervision of head coach Mickey Arthur and other coaches before the match, and are hopeful for positive results.

Pakistan will play their first match of the tournament against India, the arch-rival, on June 4 in Birmingham.
