Summary Quetta Gladiators won the toss and elected to field first against Peshawar Zalmi
SHARJAH (Dunya News) - Owing to repeated showers, the match between Quetta Gladiators and Peshawar Zalmi ended without any result, reported Dunya News.
The match was restricted to 16 overs as Peshawar Zalmi managed to score 117 runs for the the loss of three wickets. Tamim Iqbal played a brilliant knock of 62 not out to put a defendable total on the board.
Due to repeated interruptions in play due to continuous showers, Quetta Gladiators was given a target of 55 runs to chase in six overs under Duckworth–Lewis method. However, the match was abandoned as rain interrupted the play yet again once Quetta openers came into bat.
Earlier in the 9th match of PSL 2017, Quetta Gladiators won the toss and asked Peshawar Zalmi to bat in Sharjah, reported Dunya News.
Skipper Sarfaraz Ahmad was leading Quetta Gladiators in the match while the Zalmi side played under the cpataincy of Darren Sammy.

Overs 16 I Score 117/3 I Tamim Iqbal 62*, Sohaib Maqsood 30*
The eleventh over was bowled by Zulfiqar Babr as he continued with economical bowling as only 4 runs were conceded in this over. The rain interrupts play once again and the match was restricted to 16 overs per side. With only 5 overs remaining in the innings, Tamim Iqbal took the charge and hit a huge one for six of Muhammad Nawaz over. In addition, 11 runs were scored of the next over bowled by Anwar Ali as he was sit for a six by Sohaib and for four more by Tamim.
Tamim reached to his fifty as he hits a massive six of a full-toss ball by Zulfiqar Babar. The next one was also punched for six by Tamim as Zaulfiqar came up with a full-toss yet again. Parera bowls the last over and it was exceptional bowling as he concedes just four runs in the last over. Tamim leads from the very front in putting a defendable total on the board.

The opening partnership came to an end when Mahmudullah got the crucial wicket of Muhammad Hafeez as he handed over a catch to Hasan Khan. The one-down batsman Kamran Akmal also fails to impress this time as he was caught at slip by Asad Shafiq of the bowling of Hasan Khan. Moreover, the frustrations of Peshawar Zalmi raised to a new level as a healthy outside edge of Morgan’s bat fell into Asad’s hand at the slip.
Tamim Iqbal looked solid as he hit one towards long-on while fetching six runs in the process of doing so. The new-comer Sohaib Maqsood also registers a boundary as he picked a short ball in Hasan’s over. The 10th over by Mahmudullah was an economical one as only four runs were conceded in it.

Skipper Sarfaraz started the proceedings with the introduction spinner as he introduced Zulfiqar Babar to the attack; however the second ball was played for four by a Tamim as he tried a successful slog-sweep. In the second over, Muhammad Hafeez took the charge as he played a brilliant short of the back-foot for four. On the very first ball of third over, Zulfiqar was punished for his bad line by Tamim as he scored a nice boundary for four.
The pace attack was introduced in the fourth over as Anwar Ali comes into ball. Tamim plays a glorious short to mid-on and got scored four more in the process of doing so. However, the promising start by Peshawar Zalmi openers was thwarted by rain.
The play resumes as the fifth over was bowled by Nawaz and it turned out to be an economical over as only 3 runs came of it.
