NAPIER (Dunya News) – The second one-day international (ODI) between New Zealand and Australia Thursday has been abandoned without a ball bowled due to rain at McLean Park, Napier.

The match was scheduled to start at 02:00 PM local time but faced delay by cause of wet outfield after rain. The umpires conducted a series of inspections of the outfield, and ground staff worked hard to dry the wet patches but all went in vain as the conditions were declared too dangerous to play.

Eventually, the play was called off about 06:45 PM local time which means Australia now cannot win the series as New Zealand had defeated them in first ODI at Eden Park in Auckland.
