BRISBANE (Daily Dunya/ Web Desk) – The warm-up match between Pakistan and Cricket Australia (CA) XI is going on at Brisbane’s Allan Border Field Tuesday.

CA XI, consisting of young players, won the toss and elected to bowl first against Pakistan.

Batting first, Pakistan put up a decent total of 334/7 on scoreboard. Babar Azam missed out on a century by just two runs, and remained top scorer for Pakistan with 98 runs. Sharjeel Khan scored 62 and Umar Akmal notched 54 runs.

In reply, CA XI are struggling at the moment with four wickets down for 42 runs in 12 overs.

Imad Wasim and Hasan Ali have taken two wickets each so far.

Before the warm-up match, Pakistan team practiced in Brisbane with new enthusiasm after the Test clean sweep. The players who joined the team for one-day internationals (ODIs) also participated in the practice session.

The team did physical drills for fitness and fielding, bowling and batting sessions were held as well.

Head coach Mickey Arthur made it clear that only those players will remain in team who perform and comfort zone will not be given to anybody.

Arthur also seemed unhappy with the fitness of new members who have joined the team for ODIs and made them practice really hard.

Mohammad Hafeez has also been called in the team on the request of captain and coach and will join team soon. Selection committee had also recommended Kamran Akmal for the team but the request was straight away rejected by the management.

Pakistan team will play a five-match ODI series against Australia that will start from Friday, January 13 in Brisbane. Second match of the series will be played in Melbourne on January 15, third in Perth on January 19, fourth in Sydney on January 22 and fifth and final match will be played in Adelaide on January 26.
