BIRMINGHAM (Dunya News) - Both English openers, Alastair Cook and Alex Hales, scored half-centuries in the afternoon session of the third day of the third Test against Pakistan as the visitors were unable to pick any wickets. England lead the second innings by 17 runs at the close of play as they scored 120 runs without the loss of any wicket, reported Dunya News.

Pakistani team was bowled out on day three for a total of 400 runs in the first innings of the third Test against England being played at Edgbaston.

Men-in-Green have a lead of 103 runs in the first innings of the match. Azhar Ali was the top-scorer for the side with a hundred to his name whereas Sami Aslam scored 82 runs. Sarfraz remained not out after playing a knock of 46 runs.

Stuart Broad and Chris Woakes picked three wickets each for the hosts whereas quickie James Anderson picked two wickets.

England was bowled out for 297 runs in their first innings on day one of the match. Sohail Khan was the star-performer for Pakistan with a five-wicket haul to his name.
