Abdul Qadir, Mahboob Shah lash out at PCB over Younus Khan matter

Dunya News

Both cricket personalities demanded the PCB to take strict action against Younus Khan.

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Former cricketer Abdul Qadir and Test umpire Mahboob Shah on Tuesday have lashed out at Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) over Younus Khan issue.

The former chief selector stated PCB should have taken action against Younus Khan for turning gentlemen game into “shame game” instead of allowing him to rejoin Pakistan Cup.

Ex-Test umpire Mahboob Shah said that PCB’s stance over the matter is dangerous for not only cricketers but also for umpires.

Earlier, Younus Khan who has been leading Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) team as a captain in Pakistan Cup raised finger on umpires’ decision for not declaring Misbah-ul-haq out and was extremely displeased over 2 no balls not given by the umpire.

The unhappy Younus Khan not only blamed the umpires but also resigned from captaincy and went back to Karachi. He broke the disciplinary rules by 3rd degree while the latter could have been banned for 5 matches by the regulation committee.

PCB chairman Shahryar Khan stepped in and dismissed all the disciplinary calls and actions initiated by the committee against Younus and convinced him to participate in the tournament.
