Akmal, Shahzad's selfishness will badly affect team, says Waqar Younis
The team players are still hopeful to win match against Australia due on March 25.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Head coach Waqar Younis on Thursday stated that the selfishness of Umar Akmal and Ahmed Shahzad would destroy the team.
During a team meeting held over Pakistan’s defeat against New Zealand in World Twenty20, Waqar Younis stated that he, chief selector Haroon Rasheed and captain Shahid Afridi will leave but the self-interested behavior shown by Umar Akmal and Ahmed Shahzad would ruin the team unity.
Meanwhile, Shahid Afridi and Shoaib Malik leveled accusations against each other as question regarding not allowing Sarfraz Ahmed to play on upper order asked.
Shoaib Malik adopted double policy during the match and asked Afridi to list him in the middle but the player uttered that the team could have won the game if the batting order was managed.
The captain also lauded performance of batsman Khalid Latif.
