PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – As many as 146 students of Army Public School (APS) have departed for Dubai along with star player and Twenty20 captain Shahid Afridi to watch Pakistan Super League (PSL) matches.

According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) statement, the students left for Dubai from Bacha Khan Airport on a chartered plane of Shaheen Airlines due to ongoing protest of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) employees and will return country on February 8.



The young cricket lovers would support Shahid Afridi during PSL.

Afridi also distributed cricket accessories and Peshawar Zalmi’s kits among the students and took selfies with them.



Peshawar Zalmi owner Javed Afridi in his tweet on social media networking website Twitter stated that the promise made has been successfully fulfilled as 146 students have been taken to Dubai for PSL.

Featuring 69 local and 29 foreign stars, the five-team, 24-match league will be held From February 4 - 23 across two stadiums in Sharjah and Dubai.



The first match will be played between Islamabad United under Misbah-ul Haq’s captaincy and Quetta Gladiators. Spinner Saeed Ajmal will be seen swinging from Quetta side.

Earlier, Shahid Afridi while showing solidarity with APS students visited school and stated that he is going to start Talent Hunt Program to support the youngsters.

On December 16, 2014, at least 132 students and nine teachers were killed in the assault with around the same number injured. Following a military rescue operation, the siege ended around eight hours after it began with all six militants killed.
