AUCKLAND (Dunya News) – Head Coach Waqar Younis and captain of Twenty20 cricket team Shahid Afridi on Tuesday supported Mohammad Amir’s inclusion in the national squad for New Zealand tour.

According to details, the players practiced indoor due to the rain in Auckland after which the team’s head coach Waqar Younis stated that he is hopeful of Amir’s outstanding performance in the series.

“Amir was under pressure when he first arrived but he has stabled himself enough to take any challenge. He is dealing with the situation very well while the boys are also helping him out to be part of the team again”, said Waqar Younis.

Meanwhile, T20 captain Shahid Afridi also backed Amir and said that he has spark to assist the team towards success. He said that Amir’s return has been appreciated by the team members.

“Amir is still the same for me as he is playing stunningly. He is performing well, he is behaving well, I totally support him. He is focusing on his cricket”, said Afridi.

Pakistan left for New Zealand tour on Sunday however, the first T20 against NZ would be played on January 15.
