Summary Khan had asked if Afridi would change the strategy given the performance
LAHORE (Dunya News) – T20 captain Shahid Afridi on Wednesday admonished Dunya News’ sports journalist for asking question about performance, Dunya News reported.
According to details, reporter Sanaullah Khan asked if Afridi would change the strategy given how under his captaincy Pakistan lost more matches than won.
Afridi responded by saying he expected the same cheap question from that reporter. Soon after the media started reporting the row, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Sheheryar Khan and some cricketers came to his rescue.
The PCB chairman said Afridi’s Urdu is not up to the mark and that it must have been a slip of tongue. He said the star cricketer must not be held on to it.
The journalist community condemned Afridi over the ridicule and demanded apology. Manager of national cricket team Intikhab Alam instead of pointing out Afridi’s wrong kept asking the media to forget and forgive.
“I ask both Afridi and Sanaullah to bury the hatchet and move on”, he asked.
Alam said journalists are respectable and that minor issues must be overlooked.
Afridi’s temper isn’t new to media, he has went off on reporters several times before.
