Misbah became the only captain who scored twin centuries against Australia in Tests.

LAHORE (Web Desk) – On this day in 2014, Pakistani Test skipper Misbah ul Haq spent some of his most memorable minutes on the 22 yards of Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium when he scored fastest Test ton off just 56 balls, equaling legendary Vivian Richards.

When Misbah came to bat, Pakistan was in good position and Misbah’s job was to blast Aussies. Luckily, he did the same as Peter Siddle provided him with the opportunity after dropping his catch on just 4 runs.

After the dropped catch, Misbah showed his intensions towards the game after hitting 3 sixes and a boundary by flighted deliveries by Steve Smith.

It took only 21 balls for Misbah to score his half-century, which was fastest by any batsman in Test cricket’s history. Previous fastest half-century was by Jacque Kallis, off 24 balls, against Zimbabwe in 2005.

Misbah spent 74 minutes on the crease to score the fastest Test century of Test history, which was second fastest in terms of time.
The series against Australia was unforgettable for Misbah. Pakistan not just whitewashed Australia in Tests but Misbah also set many records to his name.

In the same series, Misbah became the only captain who scored twin centuries against Australia in Tests. He also became second Pakistani captain, after Inzimam ul Haq, to score twin hundreds. It was also Pakistan’s first-ever clean sweep against the Kangaroos.
